In nearly every neighborhood in this country you are likely to see the fingerprint of a Community Action Agency. Upon declaration of the "War on Poverty," which resulted from the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson created what has grown to over 1,000 of these Community Action Agencies across the nation - together Helping People, Changing Lives.
Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County, formerly Sonoma County People for Economic Opportunity (SCPEO), has been partnering with low income families and individuals to help them achieve economic and social stability; to build community, and to advocate for social and economic justice since 1967 and has a rich history and strong allies here in Sonoma County.
