Youth involvement in street gangs denigrates families and destroys the safety and sanctity of neighborhoods. Community Action Partnership (CAP) works to foster intellectual and emotional development from early childhood that leads to informed youth and empowered families. The Day and Night Festival celebrates the decrease in youth gang involvement, and happens this year on Saturday, September 23rd.
The DIG Leaders, a group of committed youth leaders in Santa Rosa, plan and carry out the family-friendly Day N’ Nite Festival, making it a special contribution to our community. The festival is a show of strong partnerships between the Santa Rosa Violence Prevention Partnership, Santa Rosa Police Department, Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks Department, and our DIG Leaders in the South Park neighborhood, which has seen a dramatic decrease in crime and gang involvement over the past 8 years.
CAP and DIG Leaders warmly invite you to attend the Day and Night Festival on Saturday, September 23rd, starting at 2:00pm through 10:30pm. The diversity of activities include the Library Bookmobile, Community Engagement Awards (Herman G. Hernandez & Rafael Rivero), Ballet Folkloríco, Miss Latina of the Wine Country, entertainment, and a K9 demonstration. The Festival closes with a big-screen movie (Disney’s Moana!) shown on the lawn from 7:30-10:30pm. Bring a lawn chair and a blanket for cozy seating; no seating will be provided.
