The Southwest Family Resource Center is another program of Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County, and has been working with families in the Bellevue, Roseland and Wright School Districts since 1993.

Our goal is to guide families through the process of self-discovering of their potential using their existent skills and resources to meet their needs and thus achieve self-sufficiency.

Services to Families:

           Parent education

           coaching and mentoring

           Assistance with School processes, Parent / Teacher Conferences

           Home Visiting

           Information and Referrals on the following:

     After-School and Tutoring Programs

     Emergency Food

     Employment

     Health Care (health insurance to whom qualifies)

     Housing and Utilities

     Legal Resources

     Parenting Classes

     Pre-school

     counseling

           Long Term / Short Term Case Management

           Translating / Interpreting

While acknowledging and respecting every customs, we believe that in order to succeed in this country immigrants will need:

ü              Learn to speak and write English

ü              Learn about customs and social rules.

ü              Learn how to use public transportation, public libraries and Public facilities in general

ü              Long and short term planning

ü              Money management

ü              Learn about the school system

ü              Learn to access services and information

ü              Understand the requirements of the work environment
