üHomeless prevention services
üEmergency Woman's shelter
üTransitional housing for homeless families
üCaring Communities - an 18 month extensive case management program
üEmergency rental & deposit assistance
üFair housing services, tenant-landlord assistance
ü Affordable Housing

Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County participates in a county-wide project called the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), which collects information on people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. HMIS is administered by the Sonoma County Community Development Commission (SCCDC) in cooperation with this Agency and other agencies in Sonoma County that provide services to benefit homeless persons. We enter the information into a secure computerized database for storage and analysis. All persons having access to HMIS information must agree to keep the information strictly confidential.

Partnerships with local organizations and CAPSC's
YouthBuild Santa Rosa program have resulted in the construction of 30 homes specifically for low income families in Sonoma County.

One YouthBuild participant had this to say about the program; "Doing construction is really hard work, but when you are done you have a really nice house for someone who needs a place to live."

Sloan House Emergency Shelter Expansion:

From Dream...

CAPSC broke ground in November 2004 on the new 24-bed shelter for homeless women.  Located off Chanate Road in Santa Rosa, the building will be one-story, handicapped accessible, constructed in wood siding with earth tone paint schemes, and consist of 10 bedrooms, a community kitchen, dining areas, living room, laundry area, and community bathroom.  The shelter is located in a secluded and wooded site near a bus stop.  This new facility will enable CAPSC to increase the maximum stay to 60 days, serve more women, and provide more effective services.

CAPSC was awarded $403,000 from the State of California to build the new shelter. In addition, CAPSC has raised $131,000 in private donations for pre-development costs.

To reality...

If you would like more information or are interested in sponsoring a room or other donation for Sloan House, please contact John Way, Director of Development at 544-6911.
