Sloan House Emergency
Shelter Expansion:
From Dream...

CAPSC broke ground
in November 2004 on the new 24-bed shelter for homeless women.
Located off Chanate Road in Santa Rosa, the building will be one-story,
handicapped accessible, constructed in wood siding with earth tone paint
schemes, and consist of 10 bedrooms, a community kitchen, dining areas,
living room, laundry area, and community bathroom.
The shelter is located in a secluded and wooded site near a bus
stop. This new facility will
enable CAPSC to increase the maximum stay to 60 days, serve more women,
and provide more effective services.
CAPSC
was awarded $403,000 from the State of California to build the new shelter.
In addition, CAPSC has raised $131,000 in private donations for pre-development
costs.
To reality...
