Center Director (formerly Head Teacher)

Deadline: UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED

Employment Type: FULL-TIME

Hours:  8 Hrs/Day, Monday through Friday, 10 or 11 Months/Year

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

Under the direction of the Area or Site Supervisor, administer a Head Start center operation guided by Head Start Performance Standards, Service Area Written Plans, Procedures, and Policies and California State Community Care Licensing regulations. Supervises the following staff: Teacher II, Teacher 1, Site Assistant, and if assigned: Language Resource Aide and Full Inclusion Assistant. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency’s policies and applicable federal and state laws.

Center Director I: Teaches children 4 days/week. Coordinates work and supervises employees of a one classroom site with up to two sessions.
Center Director II: Teaches children 4 days/week. Coordinates work and supervises employees of a site with more than one classroom.

Diabetic Care Medical Assistant

Employment Type: Full Time, 44 weeks a year

Salary Range: $20 /hour

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, provides assistance that allows one or more diabetic student(s) to remain in school with access to the curriculum and educational environment. Employee is readily assessable to the student(s) for the entire school day, maintaining the safety of the student and providing daily, on – going diabetic care management. Employee participates in general and intensive child specific training related to Diabetes. Employee participates in individual health plan conferences. Diabetic Care Assistants may also be directed to perform secondary job responsibilities by assisting the school nurse with state mandated health screenings in the school, clerical and data entry assignments and assisting secretaries with first aid administration.

Disability Services/Mental Health Coordinator

To assist in the implementation and monitoring of Head Start/Early Head Start services, providing compliance with Head Start/EHS performance standards and the current work plans. Family Advocate/School Readiness (Bilingual)

Employment Type: Part-time to Full-time hours as assigned, 10-12 months per year

Salary Range: $16-19/hr

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The role of the School Readiness Program Family Advocate is to reach out to households with children 0 to 5 years old to assist parents in obtaining knowledge of child development and the skills necessary to support school success. He/she will provide age – appropriate experiences to enhance children’s readiness skills for school by encouraging social – emotional and language development. The School Readiness Family Advocate also works with school personnel, early care and education providers, and health professionals to support school readiness concepts in the community. He/she participates in department programs, AVANCE and/or Pasitos, as assigned.

Program Manager for Healthy Communities Programs/Via Esperanza

Employment Type: Full – Time

Salary Range: $52K – 65K annually

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

A Program Manager for Via Esperanza is responsible for overseeing the direct implementation of the programs of the Via Esperanza Family Resource Center. A family resource center brings together services and activities that educate, develop skills, and promote forward moving direction for the families it serves. In addition, this position is responsible for supporting the implementation of 2 – Generational programming at the site.
