Classes You Love, New Programs to Explore

Vía Esperanza Centro de Educación is excited to announce its classes and programs for this summer!

Split into two sections to better engage our community, this summer’s programming will take place during the months of June and July. The first section will be from Wednesday, May 30 to Monday, June 18, 2018 and will consist of our Basic Computer Skills Class and Financial Workshops. The second section will be from Tuesday, June 19 to Thursday, July 17, 2018 and will consist of the Family Reading Club and Cooking Club.

Basic Computer Skills Class

This class will cover the basics of computer use. From how to properly turn devices on and off to using peripherals such as a computer mouse and opening a free email account to setting up online accounts to pay bills. Advanced users may learn how to use cloud services such as Google Drive and discuss social media best practices. | Taught in Spanish.

Financial Workshops

June 4 – June 18 | Mondays & Wednesdays | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

A series of financial workshops that will empower participants to take charge of their financial stability through education and greater awareness of available resources. Part of our Your Money, Your Goals partnership with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau. | Conducted in Spanish.

Family Reading Club

June 19 – July 17 | Tuesdays & Thursdays | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

The inaugural club will see families come together to read, share, and discuss books in both English and Spanish as we look to bring together all the community members we serve — English learners, young learners, parents, children, friends, relatives, and more!

Cooking Club

June 19 – July 17 | Tuesdays & Thursdays | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

The Summer Cooking Club addresses the HOW of eating healthy by offering healthy, easy, flavorful, and affordable recipes and cooking procedures.
